AUGUSTA, Ga. - Betty W. Johnson, 76, entered into rest January 29, 2003 at Doctors Hospital. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, January 31, 2003 at Poteet Funeral Home, South Chapel, 3465 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta, Ga. with the Rev. Billy Atkins officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Wayne Roberts, James Gilbert, Loria De Laigle, Wade Johnson, Jr., Jeremy Wallen, Ted Pounds. Mrs. Johnson is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Wade and Beverly Johnson of Martinez; one granddaughter, Lisa Pounds of Appling; one grandson, Wade Johnson, Jr. and a step-grandson, Jeremy Wallen of Augusta. Additional survivors are two great-grandchildren, Emily and Callie Pounds of Appling and an aunt, Dora Lee Clower of Snellville. Mrs. Johnson was a member of Fleming Baptist Church and was retired from the C&S National Bank. At the age of 17, she worked for Lock Heed in Marietta, Ga. as a Revitor on the B-29 Bombers in World War II. She was also a great singer of Gospel Music. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Poteet Funeral Home, South Chapel, 3465 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta, Ga.
