Mrs. Betty T. Smith, 76, of Winder died Sunday, March 11, 2012. Born in Jefferson to the late Homer and Ina Marlow Turner. She was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church and the Wesleyan Fellowship School Class. She retired from Peskins Department Store. Survivors include: her husband, H. Joe Smith; sons, David (Tina) Smith, Mike (Vickie) Smith; daughter, Tammy (Davy) Brown; sister, Lucy Hammond; 7 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren, all of Winder. The family will receive friends Monday, March 12, 2012 from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at Bethlehem First Methodist Church with Rev. Parker Benson and Rev. Mike Peavy officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family has requested memorial contributions be made to St. Mary's Hospice 1660 Jennings Mill Rd.
