KENNEDY Betty Smith, age 79, of Kennedy, died Dec. 13, 2012. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012, at Dowdle Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Terry Oswalt and Rev. James Walden officiating. Burial will follow in Wesley Chapel Methodist Cemetery with Dowdle Funeral Home of Millport directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.She was preceded in death by her daughter, Ramona Sanders, and sister, Virginia Wooten. Survivors include her husband, Wade Leon Smith of Kennedy, Ala.; daughters, Glenda Oswalt (Rev. Terry) of Fayette, Ala., Linda Rogers (Jimmy) of Tuscaloosa, Brenda Davis (Jerry) of Hamilton, Miss., Nancy Mullins (George) of Nettelton, Miss., Henrietta Slade (Larry) of Hamilton, Miss., and Debra Evans (James) of Calhoune City, Miss.; son, Henry Leon Smith (Denise) of Amory, Miss.; 23 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; sister, Nellie Cork (Colon) of Fayette, Ala.; and brothers, Herman Foster (Shirley) and Steve Foster (Mary Ann) both of Kennedy, Ala. A native of Lamar County, she was the daughter of the late Palmer Lee and Ruby Nell Wiggins Foster, and a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. Pallbearers will be Mike Rogers, Danny Harper, Todd Oswalt, Lane Andrews, Scott Slade, Israel Harper, Dustyn Smith, Jamie Andrews, Jason Smith, Shae Slade, and Cliff Sanders.
