BETTY SMITH GRIFFITH, IN Betty Smith, age 88, of Griffith passed away Friday, November 12, 2010. She was a good-natured, helpful, strong and loving wife, mother, and grandmother who always put others before herself. Betty was a retired employee of Smith Victor Corp. in Griffith with 25 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hershel Smith, Sr. and son, Kevin Smith. Betty is survived by her daughters: Norma (Dale) Voorhies of Demotte and Willa Dean Mowry of TN; sons: James (Janet) Smith of CA and Hershel Smith, Jr. of Griffith; grandchildren: Leslie (Deb) Voorhies, Cheryl (John) Carnillo, Randall (Bridget) Voorhies, Candace (Jerry) Weyant, William (Carolyn) Mowry, Caroline (Dennis) Lindsey, Brian (Michelle) Mowry, Melissa (Donny) Gordon, Jenna Smith and Scott Smith; great-grandchildren: Anne, Matthew, Kyle, Alison, David, Stephen, Lauren, Randi, Kane, Emily, Michael and Morgan; and great-great grandchild, Caiden.
