Floral Designer NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Betty Scott Brown, wife of the late Gaston Dalton Brown Jr., entered into rest Friday, October 22, 2010 at Trinity Hospital. Graveside services will be held Monday, October 25, 2010, at 1:30 pm, in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Family and friends are requested to assemble at the grave. Mrs. Brown, daughter of the late Charles Nathaniel and Cora Lee Williams Scott, was born in Screven County Georgia, in 1929. She retired from Idle Hour Florist as a floral designer and was a member of Curtis Baptist Church and the Augusta Geneological Society. She also served as garden club president in Mobile. Mrs. Brown was recognized as one of the leading floral designers in Mobile AL, and Augusta. At her retirement she began an endeavor to research the family history of the Scott, Brown, Williams, and Pearre families. Survivors include her sons, Kenneth Dalton Brown and his wife, Janice, of Roswell, GA, and Larry Scott Brown of Augusta; her daughter Wendy Brown Murphy and Charlie Schlein, of Augusta; her grandchildren, Stephanie Bryant Lively, Judson Dalton Brown, Kyle Conrad Brown; five great- grandchildren; her sister and brother in law, Loyce Scott and Raymond Hargrove of North Augusta, SC; and her sister in law, Jo Ann Brown Hargrove of Charlotte, NC.
