RIPLEY, Mrs. Betty - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, on Saturday May 17th, 2008 Mrs. Betty Ripley of Chatham in her 82nd year. Cherished daughter of the late Percy and Elizabeth Smith. Beloved wife of the late Floyd Ripley(1997). Loving mother Jerry and his wife Brenda of Owen Sound, Rick and his wife Rita of Wallaceburg, Cheryl Crow and her husband Mark of Chatham, and Darlene Ripley and her partner Arleigh Tamlin of Belleville. She will be lovingly remembered by her seventeen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Dear sister of Helen Trottier of Chatham, sister-in-law of Pat Smith and Ida Trottier both of Chatham. Mrs. Ripley is predeceased by her son Ken (1991) and her brothers Carl and Bev Smith. Family and friends are invited to the ALEXANDER FUNERAL HOME, 245 Wellington West, Chatham, 519-352-2710 on Tuesday May 20th from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service for Mrs. Ripley will be conducted from the chapel of the funeral home on Wednesday May 21st at 11 a.m. with Pat Milliken of Providence United Church officiating. Interment Maple Leaf Cemetery. Friends planning an expression of remembrance are asked to consider Canadian Cancer Society.
