Betty M. Brown Hagaman Betty M. Brown, 83, formerly of Charlton, passed away January 1, 2015 with her loving family by her side. Betty was born December 14, 1931 to the late Frank and Bertha Blaise in Moriah, NY. She was one of seven children. Betty had several jobs over the years, working at the Westport Inn as a young girl, Cluett Peabody, Lablaws Supermarkets, NYS, Mt. Loretto Nursing Home, Hospice and finally as a private duty nurse. She was a member of the Charlton United Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday school for many years and was also a member of the Burnt Hills Bowling League, which allowed her to travel all over the United States for tournaments, she received many trophies over the years for her accomplishments. Betty loved to travel, read, sew, quilt, play games and spend time with her family and friends. Betty and her husband, Russ, enjoyed many years wintering in Leesburg, FL. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Russell Brown. She is also survived by a son, Russell Jr. (Christine); daughter, Darla Pucheu (Kenneth); son, Christopher (Kim); daughter, Kimberly Conti (Christopher Murray); step-sons, Douglas (Gloria) and Dennis (Marie); as well as several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Betty was predeceased by her daughter, Karen Currier; infant son, Gregory; granddaughter, Dena; and five of her siblings. Calling hours will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, January 6th at Richard J. Ryan Funeral Home, 2034 West St., Galway, NY. Services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, January 7th at the funeral home.
