Obituary of Betty-M. Brown


BROWN Betty M. Brown, 77, passed away July 2, 2010. Betty was a lifelong resident of Jacksonville, FL. She was a school bus contractor with Duval County Schools for more than 30 years. Betty will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend to all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Fannie Blume, and grandson, Brett Ahearn. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Kenneth; daughters, Debra Ahearn (Charles Johnson), Donna Tompkins (Ron), and Betty Rae Fitzhugh (Geoff Vaughan); 5 grandchildren, Bryan Ahearn, Brooke Lasater, Brad Ahearn, Tami Vega (Brandon), and Matthew Fitzhugh; 7 great-grandchildren, Brie, Chase, Seth, Kaden, Tatum, Alden, and Delaney Rose; nieces and nephews, Patricia, William, David, W.C., Rick, Michelle, Cindy, Brenda, Diane, and Sharon; many great-nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends for a visitation from 6-8 pm, Sunday, July 4, 2010 at the funeral home, where funeral services will also be held on Monday, July 5, 2010 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Riverside Memorial Park. Arrangements entrusted to Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 729 S. Edgewood Ave., 388-2711.
