Memorial Service for Betty Smith, 75, North Lincoln Street, Daytona Beach, who died Tuesday, July 31, 2007, at Halifax Medical Center, will be 11 a.m. Monday, August 6, 2007, at Greater Friendship Baptist Church with The Rev. Dr. L. Ronald Durham, senior pastor, officiating. Mrs. Smith was born in Sebring, Fla., and graduated from E. O. Douglas High School. She moved to this area in 1954, and later became a faithful member of Greater Friendship Baptist Church where she was a former member of choir #2. She had unconditional love for God, family and friends. Survivors include her daughter, Sherry Smith Aviles; grandchildren, Orrin M. Hamer, Santino Aviles and Carmella Aviles; brother, Robert Shuler; sisters, Juanita Ancrum and Doris Taylor; aunt, Everlena Gunder; two nephews; four nieces; four great grand-nephews; three great-grand-nieces; and other relatives and friends.
