Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Rainbow City for Betty Jones, 78, Centre, who died Sunday, Nov. 14, 2010. The Rev. Larry Garrard, the Rev. Ricky Pollard and the Rev. Douglas Ford will officiate. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Morgan Funeral Chapel and Crematory directing.Mrs. Jones was a church pianist, active member of the WMU, church choir, was of the Baptist faith and an active member of Pine Grove Baptist Church in Centre, where she participated in several ministries. She greatly enjoyed music, playing piano, cooking and enjoying Cajun foods. She was a proud grandmother and great-grandmother, devoted to her family. Mrs. Jones was thorough and dedicated to every task she began. She was involved in ministry with her husband in Louisiana for 49 years. She was preceded in death by her son, Sammy Jones; and parents, K.D. Roberts and Hattie McClendon Roberts. Survivors include husband of 58 years, Sam Jones; daughters, Diane (Grayson) Giardina, Janet (Mark "Butch") Callahan, Jeanna (Clark) Carroll; grandchildren, Jill (David) Bugner, Jonathan Giardina, Jeffrey Giardina, Kelly (Marvin) Thompson, Kristy (Shannon) Ramsey, Brian (Haley) Stirling, Lauren and Alison Carroll; four great-grandchildren; brother, Bobby Jack Roberts.Pallbearers will be Mark Callahan, Grayson Giardina, Jonathan Giardina, Brian Stirling, Clark Carroll, Shannon Ramsey and Marvin Thompson.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pine Grove Baptist Church in Centre, designated for Baptist Children's Home.Special thanks to the CCU at Trinity Medical Center.Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Morgan Funeral Chapel.
