BETTY JONES COCOA BEACH Betty Jane Jones, 82, of Cocoa Beach, FL and formerly of Charleston, WV, died Saturday, October 7, 2006. Betty was the retired Director of Accounting for the West Vir ginia State Treasurers Office with 26 years of service. She was a graduate of West Fair mont High School and West Virginia Business College. She was a former employee of Fairmont Supply Company and Owens Illinois in Fairmont, WV. She was past president of the American Legion Auxiliary and she and her husband were very active in the American Legion Mountaineer Boys State Program for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy E. Jones, the former state adjutant of the American Legion; and her brothers, Robert Clark Gross and James Milton Gross. Betty Is survived by her daughters, Linda Kay Jones, B.J. Steere and Pamala M. Martin; grandsons, Jeffrey Scott Spangler, Curtis Jones Steere and wife, Tammy, James Chadwick Lewis and Justin Shane Lewis; great-grand daughters, Chelsea and Aubry; sister, Jeanne Sarver and her husband, William; brother, Joseph Howard Gross and his wife, Martha and William Leroy Gross; 11 nieces and nephews; over 20 great-nieces and neph ews; and sister-in-law, Marjorie Gross. A service honoring the life of Betty will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, October 14, 2006 at Snodgrass Funeral Home, South Charleston. Entombment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston. Family and Friends will visit from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, at Snodgrass Funeral Home, 4122 MacCorkle Avenue SW, South Charleston.
