Betty Jean Johnson of Mooresville, Ind. died Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013. She was 75. Born in Liberty on April 22, 1938, she was the daughter of Kenneth Paul and Ada Esther Cochran Vanoy. Survivors include her husband, Shirley Johnson of Mooresville, Ind.; four children, Pamela G. Walton, Dorral S. Johnson, Kenneth C. Johnson and Shannon R. Kaiser; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister. A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29 at Eternal Life Baptist Church with Ralph Owens officiating. There will also be a calling from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31 at Poplar Grove Baptist Church in Liberty. Ralph Owens will officiate a 12 p.m. funeral service at the church. Burial will be at Poplar Grove Cemetery. Jones Family Mortuary is in charge of arrangements in Mooresville, Ind. and McKinney-Brown Funeral Home in charge of the local funeral arrangements.
