After a long career as an employee of Bell Telephone in New York, N.Y., Ms. Johnson returned to Asheville as the co-owner of Rabbit's Restaurant and Tourist Court.Surviving are her brother, Benny F. Byrd; sisters, Betty Wells and Nellie Byrd Williams; sister-in-law, Louella Massey Byrd; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.At the request of Ms. Johnson, there will be no services.Ray and Allen Funeral Service is assisting the Byrd family.
