Waxhaw, NC - Betty Jo Smith, 80, formerly of Gray's Creek, died Sunday, February 17, 2013. Betty was from Oxford, Ala., and lived in Gray's Creek for a number of years, but for the last year, she resided with and was cared for by her daughter, Helen Rhodes in Waxhaw, N.C. Those left to mourn her loss, in addition to her daughter, Helen, are granddaughters, Kelly Terzaken, of Wilmington, and Brandy Hampton, of China Grove; brothers, Jerry and Charles Love, both of Anniston; sisters, Jewel Smelley, of Eastaboga, and Carolyn Craven, of Madison, Ga.; grandchildren, Jayden Terzaken, Eli Gazda, Baylee, Kayla and Madison Hampton; and a host of extended family and friends. A visitation was held Wednesday, February 20, 2012, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Marvin United Methodist Church. A celebration of life was held at 2 p.m. following the visitation at the church with the Rev.
