Betty Jo McLin Carter, 73, of Sheffield, died Thursday, Sept. 12, 2002. Visitation will be Saturday, Sept. 14, 2002, from 10 till 11 a.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will follow graveside at Tuscumbia Oakwood Cemetery, and the Rev. Larry Harbin of the First United Methodist Church of Tuscumbia will officiate.Mrs. Carter was a native of Colbert County and a member of First United Methodist Church of Tuscumbia.She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Carter, and her parents, Carrel and Ethel McLin.Survivors include her son, William Clay Carter and wife, Beth, of Cullman, Ala., and daughter, Corby Carter Rea and husband, Casey, of Tuscumbia; sister, Carol Dean McGuyer of Tuscumbia; granddaughters, Kylie Rea Basinger and husband, Gabe, of Tuscumbia, Keslie Rea, also of Tuscumbia; grandson, Wil Carter of Cullman, Ala.Pallbearers are Parke Craft, Stefan Craft, Jason Craft, Billy Gene Barnes, Frankie Tubbs and Jimmy Todd.Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Tuscumbia or to Covenant Christian School Scholarship Fund, Tuscumbia, Ala.
