Obituary of Betty-Jo Brown


Betty Jo Brown, 77, of Rincon died Monday, Aug. 4, 2014 at her home under the care of Island Hospice.She was born in Collins to Howard and Ruby Collins Wrenn. Betty was a member of Morning Side Baptist Church and had attended Grace Community Church.Betty was a graduate of St. Joseph's Nursing School where she received her RN degree. She was a bookkeeper and had opened several H&R Block locations with her husband. She established the Book Nook in Rincon in 1996. She was preceded in by her husband of 49 years, Stanley Lee Brown.Survivors include her daughter, Polly Ann Engebretson; son and daughter-in-law, Stanley "Stan" Lee Brown II (Sess); siblings, James "Bobby" Wrenn (Kathy), DiAnne Amerson (Roger) and Howard "Dana" Wrenn; grandchildren, Heather, Karl and Ty; and several nieces and nephews.Memorial contributions may be made to Island Hospice, 1000 Towne Center Blvd. Ste. 303, Pooler, GA 31322.A gathering for family and friends was Friday, Aug. 8 from 10-11 a.m. at the Fairhaven Funeral Home Garden City Chapel with a funeral service beginning at 11 a.m. in the chapel.
