Betty Jean Scott, 84, died Sept. 15, 2005, at JFK Medical Center in Atlantis. She was born in Deshler, Ohio, and lived in Stuart for more than 30 years, coming from Monroe, Mich. She had worked in an administrative position for The Stuart News. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Stuart and Cedar Pointe Condominium Association. Survivors include a sister, Betty Jane Wight of Central Lake, Mich., and Clearwater. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Jack Scott; brothers, Carlton, Dudley, William and Fred Sherman; and sister, Elizabeth Edwards. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church of Stuart, 1500 S. Kanner Highway, Stuart, FL 34994. SERVICES: Visitation will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Sept. 28 at Forest Hills Funeral Home, Palm City, where a service will follow at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Palm City.
