<!-- FH = The Kennedy Mortuary -->Betty Jean ReidLaurensBetty Jean Reid, 84, of 112 Todd Avenue, passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2013, at Martha Franks Baptist Retirement Community.Born in Columbia, she was a daughter of the late John Jones and Florence Beatrice McDaniel Reid. Betty was a member of First Presbyterian Church where she was a former Sunday School teacher and also Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority. She taught school in Kingstree, Clinton High School, and Laurens Academy for over 40 years.Surviving are a sister, Claire Taylor and husband Bill; a niece, Ann Reid Taylor; a nephew, James "Shot" Taylor and wife Drenda, all of Laurens; three great nephews, Scott Taylor and wife Raegan, Eric Taylor and wife Beth, and Reid Taylor and wife Laura; four great great nieces, Jordan, Grayson, Mackenzie, and Lexi; a great great nephew, Jack; and a very special cat, Pierre.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, April 14, 2013, at The Kennedy Mortuary Chapel conducted by Rev. Marc Coker and Rev. Alice MacKeil with burial following in Forest Lawn Cemetery.The family will be at the home of her sister, 710 East Main Street, Laurens, and will receive friends at the cemetery immediately following the burial.Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 400 West Main Street, Laurens, SC 29360.Condolences may be expressed online at www.thekennedymortuary.com.
