Betty Jean Jones -SAVANNAH - Betty Jean Jones, age 50, daughter of the late Charlie Jasper and Virginia Roberts Brown entered into the gates of Heaven on Saturday, August 18, 2007 at Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro, SC. While she was a member of the US Army she attended Armstrong State College and obtained a bachelor of science in Social Science from the University of Maryland. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Charles County, MD. She formed close ties to many members of the church and served faithfully until her death. She is preceded in death by one son, Marques Raymond Trumaine Jones; sister, Gloria Jean Brown and brother Kenneth Brown. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Raymond L. Jones, Jr. of Accokeek, MD; two daughters, Jennifer A. McElveen of Walterboro, SC and Octavia L. Jones of Clovis, NM; two sons, Darrell C. Jones of Baltimore, MD and Raymond L. Jones, III of Accokeek, MD; one sister, Charles Etta Braddy of Savannah; one brother, Charlie J. Brown, Jr. of Indianapolis, IN; three brothers-in-law, James Braddy of Savannah, Joshua and John Jones of Lottsburg, VA; four sisters-in-law, Marion Curry, Jenniece Tyler and Crystal Tilghman of Ft. Washington, MD and Jean Jones of Clinton, MD; one granddaughter, Virginia Byonka McElveen of Walterboro, SC; her godmother, Elizabeth Floyd of Savannah and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation and Funeral Services: Visitation, Thursday, August 23, 6 - 8 p.m. at Hubert C. Baker Funeral Home. Funeral Service, Friday, August 24, 11:00 a.m. at Second St. John's Missionary Baptist Church, 1323 Golden Street. Interment will be at Beaufort National Cemetery.
