Betty Jean Johnson Brock, 82, of Chipley died Nov. 8. She was born April 6, 1926 in Cottondale, the youngest of nine children born to Angus O. Johnson, Sr. and Emma Cutchens Johnson. She graduated from Cottondale High School in 1945 and owned and operated Betty's Flowers in Chipley for many years. She was a Baptist by faith and a member of the New Orange Baptist Church. Along with her parents, five brothers and two sisters and a daughter, Carole Hawk and her husband Kenneth Hawk, and son-in-law, James Rogers preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, the Rev. Alcus R. Brock, one daughter, Yvonne Carmichael and husband Earl, one son, David Brock and wife Trish, all of Chipley; a sister, Eula Mae Dilmore of Gulf Breeze; 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Nov. 11, at the funeral home's Brickyard Road Chapel with the Revs. Phillip Gainer and Trent Gann officiating. Interment followed in the Oakie Ridge Baptist Cemetery, with Brown Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
