COTTONDALE Betty Jean Harris, age 66, of 2430 Harris Lane, Cottondale, died Feb. 18, 2006, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services were 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 20, 2006 at Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel with Rev. Bill Holley and Rev. George Fields officiating. Burial followed in Cottondale Cemetery with Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.She was preceded in death by her son, Franklin Dock Harris, Jr.Survivors include her husband, Franklin Dock Harris; daughters, Melinda (Terry) Simmons, Marilyn (Ronnie) Corder, Teresa (Jimmy) Moore and Donna (Tareq) Arsalla; sisters, Rose Lee Montgomery and Nelia Mae Davis; brothers, Howard Jackson and Richard Jackson (Dean); grandchildren, Ronald (Penny) Corder, Donald (Alison) Corder, Eric (Karen) Corder, Jamie Hewitt, Sameh Arsalla; and six great-grandchildren.Pallbearers were Donald Corder, Ronald Corder, Eric Corder, Pete Blake, Bill Blake and Randy Jackson.Honorary pallbearers were employees of Hospice of West Alabama and friends of Holten Heights.In lieu of flowers, the family requested that donations be made to Hospice of West Alabama or to Holten Heights Church of Nazarene.
