Betty-Jane Patterson, born in 1915, spouse of John-W. Patterson, mother of Virginia M and Georgia L, died on February 23, 2007. Please consult the obituary here:
PATTERSON Betty Jane Patterson passed away with dignity and grace, like she lived her life, on February 23, 2007. She was born July 2, 1915 in Chicago, Illinois and moved to Jacksonville, FL in 1996, where she lived at Cypress Village. She had an amazing sense of humor, zest for life and incredible ability to make everyone she encountered feel truly privileged to have known her. She is predeceased by her husband, John W. Patterson and her beloved friend and companion Chester Rudnicki. She leaves behind her two daughters, Virginia M. Christie (Walter) and Georgia L. Carroll (Joseph), her two granddaughters, Melissa L. Neighbors and Melinda S. Blankenship (Kenny), and three grandsons, Nicholas Neighbors, Logan and Lucas Blankenship, and her precious granddog Libby. She was extremely fortunate to have the loving care of Melanie Domani, to whom the family owes a great debt of gratitude. She was a wonderful individual who continually surprised those around her, up until her last days, with her creativity, sense of humor, and loving spirit. Her most exciting moment was flying to London on the Concorde and returning home on the QE II. She loved her “hand and foot” card group and always strived to bring home the prize. Her last days were spent in the loving care of Life Care of Jacksonville and words cannot express enough gratitude for the care she received. It seems they only hire angels at Life Care and she was fortunate enough to have them love her as if she was a family member. Her family will never forget the support and care she received. A private memorial is planned for the family. A memorial donation will be made in her honor to her favorite organization: Southeastern Guide Dogs, 4210 77th Street E, Palmetto, FL 34221. Arrangements entrusted to BEACHES CHAPEL BY HARDAGE-GIDDENS, 1701 Beach Blvd., Jacksonvile Beach, FL 32250. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.MeM.com Please Sign the Guestbook @ Jacksonville.com
