Obituary of Betty-Jane Miller


MILLER Betty Jane Miller, 86, passed away peacefully with her loving husband and family surrounding her, Thursday, May 13, 2004, after a lengthy illness. Born in Sewickley, Pennsylvania, she moved to Jacksonville with her family when 12 years old. She was very active in her church, St. Marks Episcopal, Visiting Nurses Association, and loved her many friends and her favorite pastime, playing bridge. Betty Jane graduated from John Gorrie Junior High, Lee High School, and attended Ohio Wesleyan University and New York School of Interior Design. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Alfred Miller, Jr., her brother Phillip Bright (JoAnne), her son Alfred Miller III (Carol) and daughter, Judith Frame (Gene), grandchildren Alfred Miller IV (Mary Claire), Nathan Earl Miller (Kat), Ashley Wooster Bobo (Frank), Matthew Davidson Miller and Eugene Martin Frame III, and five great-grandchildren. Betty Jane loved life and was a wonderful wife, mother and friend to all who knew her. A funeral service will be held at St. Mark's Episcopal Church Monday, May 17, at 11am, with the Rev. Leigh Spruill officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Mark's Episcopal Church. Arrangements by HARDAGE-GIDDENS FUNERAL HOME, 729 S.
