Betty Jane McFadden, age 79, of Springfield, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2005. She was born April 19, 1926, in Cody, Mo. On January 27, 1951, she and Irven McFadden were united in marriage. Mrs. McFadden retired from Springday. After retirement she enjoyed music and dancing at Senior Citizen Centers. She was a seamstress and wonderful cook. She looked forward to holidays, making candy with her family and enjoying all of the family getting together. Survivors include three daughters and their husbands, Tela and Dewey Smith, Springfield, Barbara and Darrell Freeman, Springfield and Erva and Grady Jones, Elkland 13 grandchildren 34 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Her husband, Irven, preceded her in death, as well as her mother, Martha Ann Bowers. The family would like to express their thanks to Community Hospices of America for their compassionate care for Betty during her illness. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, October 11, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Pastor Jerry Humble officiating. Burial will follow in Sparta Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m., Monday, in the funeral home.
