An Asheville native, Betty enjoyed living in several areas of Michigan, Pennsylvania and Ohio with her husband and family before returning to her home state in 1984. She was known for her baking, exuberant personality and warm hospitality.Born to Roscoe and Kitty Lee Miller Rhodes on February 24, 1932 she was the youngest sibling to Max, Juanita, and Mattie Ella. She was the loving wife of Walter Loren Jackson of Candler who went to Heaven June 5, 2001.Surviving are her daughters, Sherry Holland and husband, Mike, of Mechanicsburg, PA, and Sheila Pomarico and husband, Victor, of Mt. Pleasant, PA; and her sons, Mark Jackson and wife, Anne, of Wilmington, Chris Jackson and wife, Sandy, of Belews Creek, and Dan Jackson of Winston-Salem; twelve grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.A celebration of her life will be held at Victory Baptist Church, 80 Olivette Rd., Asheville, on June 29 at 2 PM with her son-in-law, Dr. Mike Holland officiating.
