Penn Yan - Betty J. Smith, 77, of Penn Yan, passed away on Tuesday (August 6, 2013) at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital. Family and friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday (August 10, 2013) at the Townsend-Wood Funeral Chapel, 201 E. Elm St., Penn Yan, N.Y., where her funeral service will take place following at 11 a.m.Betty was born February 24, 1936 in the Town of Potter, the daughter of the late William & Carrie Artley Wilson. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
