Betty J. Smith SPARTANBURG, SC-- Betty Jean Smith, 54, of 759 North Liberty Street, died Monday, August 22, 2011. A native of Charleston, SC, she was the daughter of Margaret Price Smith of the home and the late Hillian W. "Bill" Smith. She was a member of Cavins Baptist Church in Woodruff and was a former employee of Springs Industries. Surviving are one daughter, Bonnie Smith of Spartanburg; three sisters, Kathy Smith of Spartanburg, Margie Westmoreland of Woodruff and Teresa Woodward of Woodruff. She is also survived by a godchild, Twana Richardson of Spartanburg. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Lanford Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Terry Rainey and Rev. Carrol Caldwell. Interment will follow in Greenhaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 1:00-1:45 P.M. prior to the service at the funeral home.
