BROWN, BETTY J. BROWN Dunnellon - Betty J. Brown, 83 passed away at her home on May 4, 2007. She was born in Salina, Kansas and moved to Alachua 15 years ago from Dunnellon. Mrs. Brown retired from the Army Air Force Post Exchange. She was of the Episcopalian faith. Mrs. Brown had a farm in Dunnellon where she enjoyed caring for her animals and barrel racing. She considered herself a horsewoman. She was a caregiver and mentor to her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Sgt. Major Harold H. Brown, son Larry M. Brown, and daughter Betty C. Swartz. She is survived by daughters Judith A.(Milton) Baker of Alachua, and Trudence Brown of Gainesville, brother William S. Merrill of Halstead, Kansas, 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, May 7, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Forest Meadows Funeral Home Chapel, 725 N.W. 23rd Ave., Gainesville, FL. with Bro. Russell Woodard officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Meadows Memorial Park East. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior from 10-11 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Haven Hospice of North Central Florida, 4200 N.W. 90th Blvd., Gainesville, FL. 32606. Arrangements are under the care of Forest Meadows Funeral Home.
