BETTY J. BROOKS EVANSVILLE, IN Betty J. Brooks, age 79 of Evansville, IN passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2014 in Evansville. She was born June 7, 1934 in Wildwood, NJ, the daughter of Elmer and Jean (Chalmers) Hess. Betty was a homemaker. On February 24, 1955, she married Edgar R. Brooks, Sr. who survives in Evansville. Also surviving are four daughters: Donna (Wayne) Belsha of Portage, IN, Nancy (Mark) Spoentgen of Cranberry Twp., PA, Tammy (Tony) Roksandich of Capon Bridge, WV, and Teresa (Jeff) Grimm of Milton, FL; 15 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and a sister, Jessie Philson of Las Vegas, NV. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jeanne Joseph; her son, Edgar (Ray Ray) Brooks, Jr.; and her parents. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Bartholomew Funeral Home, 102 Monroe Street, Valparaiso, IN with Pastor Mike Eddy officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Valparaiso. Visitation will be held Friday, February 28, 2014 from 1:00-5:00 PM at Bartholomew Funeral Home.
