Polk Health Dept.WINTER HAVEN -- Mrs. Betty I. Harris of Winter Haven died of heart failure Monday (Feb. 7, 2005) at home. She was 72.Born in Jasper, Ala., on Feb. 2, 1933, she came to Winter Haven from Walker County, Ala., in 1951. She worked in information services for the Polk County Health Department. She was a member of New Beginning Church.Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by her husband, Ezekial Harris. She is survived by her daughter, Rita S. Everly, Winter Haven; sons, Allen Harris, Plano, Texas, Chris Harris, Winter Haven; brother, Mike Hicks, Memphis, Tenn.; sisters, Sandra Pedraza, Lakeland, Nancy Cato, Birmingham, Ala.; several half brothers and sisters; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, 2425 W. Havendale Blvd., Winter Haven. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Rolling Hills Cemetery, Winter Haven.
