Obituary of Betty-G. Anderson


Betty G. Anderson CAMPOBELLO, SC-- Betty Jo Gaines Anderson, 80, of 545 Goodjoin Road, widow of Bob Anderson, died Thursday, August 13, 2009 at Village Hospital. A native of Spartanburg County, daughter of the late Nolan and Nancy Clayton Gaines, she was a retired employee of Holly Springs Motlow School and a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Gwyn and Donald Shockley of Simpsonville, SC, and Jane and Terry Harmon of Campobello; and three grandchildren, Haley Shockley, Connor Harmon, and Spencer Harmon. Mrs. Anderson was the last surviving member of her family and predeceased by five brothers, Tracey, Eugene, Hartwell, Lewis, and Horace Gaines and two sisters, Lettie Staton and Frances Wolfe. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, August 15, 2009 at Holly Springs Baptist Church, conducted by Dr. Tim Clark and Rev. Henry Stanford. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Honorary escort will be the Forever Young Sunday School Class Visitation will be held 12:30 PM to 1:45 PM Saturday at Holly Springs Baptist Church. A special thanks to the staff of Village Hospital at Pelham. The family is at the home. Memorials may be made to the Holly Springs Baptist Church General Fund, 251 Hannon Road, Inman, SC 29349.
