Betty Fox, born in 1915, spouse of George Fox, died on May 9, 2006.
FOX _ With sadness we announce the passing of Betty Fox on Tuesday May 9, 2006. A wonderful, gentle soul has left us. Born on February 17, 1915 Betty grew up in Calgary. She was a talented musician and by the age of 16 had achieved her degree in music. Betty met and married George and together they moved to Vancouver in 1935. In 1967 she became a founding member and first president of the Surrey Festival of Dance, an organization very close to her heart. She worked for many years with the festival becoming Honourary President. She was awarded an OSTA for outstanding service to the arts in 1987. Betty is survived by her two daughters, Inez and Leanne; grandchildren, Erin (Michael), Bradley (Kathy), Aaron (Laura-Lee); great-grandchildren, Lauren, Meaghan, Shelby, Bennett and Jacob; sisters, Eunice and Hazel. She was predeceased by her husband George and granddaughter Cara. Though her smile is gone forever and her hand we cannot touch she has left us with a legacy of loving, happy memories. A very special thanks from the family to the caring staff of Guildford Seniors Village . Dr. Mervin Lutes will conduct the service of remembrance on Monday, May 15, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Victory Memorial Park, 14831 - 28th Avenue, S. Surrey. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favourite charity.
