<!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->May 9, 1926 – Oct 31, 2014 Betty Boyd Smith, age 88 of Homewood passed away October 31, 2014. She was born and raised in Oxmoor, AL. Betty is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Albert Franklin Smith. A devoted Christian who enjoyed reading her Bible; she was a charter member and member of Raleigh Avenue Baptist Church. Betty enjoyed cooking, sewing, and making everlasting memories with family and friends. She is survived by her son; Jimmy Smith (Carol/Jason, Geneva, & JoAnn), daughters; Lynda Smith Radford (Joel/Randal & Stacey), Barbara Jean Smith (Amanda), Diane Smith Peek (Wallace/Amber & Austin), six great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and sister; LaVerne Arnold. In addition, there is an extended family including: several cousins, nieces, nephews, church family, and numerous friends. The service was held Tuesday, November 4th at 2:00 PM at Elmwood Chapel with burial at Elmwood Cemetery.
