Mrs. Moore was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late Tilman Walter and Mary Ann Gantt Barger. A Methodist by faith, Betty graduated from West Buncombe High School in 1939. She was married to James Proffitt Moore who died in 1979. She is survived by her sister Sarah P. Gosnell of Fairview; a brother, George R. Barger of Asheville; and 4 nieces and 7 nephews.A graveside service will be held at 3pm on Tuesday June 3, 2014 at Green Hills Cemetery with Rev. David Warren officiating.
