Obituary of Betty Ballard

<!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->Betty Ann Wooten Ballard04/03/1936-10/14/2013 - Betty Ballard went to be with her Lord Jesus in heaven, on the morning of October 14, 2013 while in the comfort of her home. Betty was very loved by all who knew her, and she loved them all..right back! Unfortunately, she spent the last two decades of her life bravely battling illnesses stemming from Rheumatoid Arthritis and COPD. Survived by her husband of 55 years, Rex Duard Ballard, her son Rex D. Ballard III, his wife Susan, and their son Justin of Cary NC, and her twin brother Bill Arthur Wooten of Asheville NC. Deceased family members are her parents George and Sadie Wooten, Madeline Swayngim, Marie McCorkle, Albert, Richard and James Wooten. The family was formally from Asheville NC. Betty was very involved in her church fellowship at Westover United Methodist Church, Raleigh NC. She delighted in any activities that included family and friends. Back in the day, if one were to bowl against her&#8230;they would more than likely lose! The memorial service is set for Thursday, October 17, 2013 at Westover United Methodist Church, 300 Powell Drive, Raleigh NC 27606 at 11am. The family will receive friends and family at a meet and greet prior to the memorial service at 10am, also at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Wake County, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh NC, or Westover United Methodist Church, Raleigh NC, or Reems Creek-Beech Presbyterian Church in Weaverville NC. Although Betty will be sorely missed by so many, there is comfort in knowing that she will suffer no more, and now resides in heaven with Christ her Lord and Savior.
