Betty Brown, born in 1921, spouse of Ken Brown, daughter of Thomas and Claire, mother of Bonnie, Fred, Laurel and Dawn, died on October 31, 2005 at 84 years old.
BROWN, Betty Lenore (Balman) 84 years, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, October 31, 2005 at Windsor Regional Hospital, Metropolitan Campus. Beloved wife of Ken Brown. Cherished mother of Bonnie Smorong (Bob), Fred Brown (Amy) of Edmonton, Laurel Robinet (Larry), Dawn Docherty (Jim). Loving grandmother of Kim and Adrien Smorong, Aron and Jordan Brown; Joel, Jeremy, Alicia, Angela and Hannah Robinet; Shaun, Christina, and Lisa Docherty. Dear daughter of the late Thomas and Claire Balman. Loving sister of Ellen Nakolan (Andy) and the late Bill Balman (1977), and sister in law of Evelyn. Betty will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, neighbours, friends and family. Betty was an accomplished musician, playing the piano, marimba, and organ, and was a member of the Windsor Federation of Musicians. Betty volunteered at Riverview Hospital, Villa Maria, and with the Cerebral Palsy Association Young Adult Workshop. She was involved with Malden Park Day Away Program and was a former resident of Iler Lodge. Visitation will be held at the Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 895 Ouellette Ave. (254-3223) on Wednesday from 6-9 p.m. and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 4, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. in the Anderson Memorial Chapel, with Ken and Betty's dear friend Gord Boakes officiating. Interment Green-lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations made to the Essex Food Bank or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
