SMITH, BETTY ANN (ROLF), 75 Gainesville - Betty Ann Rolf Smith of Gainesville died at the North Florida Specialty Care Center. She was 75. Mrs. Smith was born in Pittsburgh, PA, where she lived until she received her Masters Degree from the University of Pittsburgh. She was a resident of the Washington D.C. area for 12 years; Decatur Georgia for 11 years, and moved to Gainesville in 1977. She was active in Church work including directing the Girls Auxiliary (G.A.'s), playing the piano, singing, etc., and was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was active in the order of the Eastern Star, served as Mother Advisor for the Rainbow Girls, and served as President of several ladies patriotic and other organizations. Survivors include her husband, Hugh M. Smith of Gainesville; a daughter, Cheri Demmers of Atlanta, GA; Four sons: Larry Smith of Hampton, GA; Curtis Smith of Lawrenceville, GA; Eric Smith of Day, FL; David Smith of Hoboken, NJ, and 10 grandchildren. A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m., Aug 22, 2006 at Forest Meadows Chapel, 725 NW 23rd Ave., Gainesville. Funeral services will be at Brewer Lake Baptist Church, Day, Florida, 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Aug 23 2006, and burial will follow in the Day Cemetery.
