Betty Jane Anderson, 78, widow of her beloved husband, Kenneth B. Anderson, died Sunday, July 19, 2009. Born in East Orange, N.J., she was the daughter of the late William John and Helen Regina Ellis Nugent. Mrs. Anderson was a homemaker and founding member of St. Mary Magdalene parish. She graduated from St. Elizabeth College with a degree in home economics. She was an avid bridge player and had a passion for traveling. Surviving are two daughters, Sue McNamara and husband, Jim, of New Milford, Conn. and Tish Bouldin and husband, Phil, of Greenville; five sons, Ken Anderson and wife, Sally, of Richmond, Va., Chris Anderson and wife, Jackie, of Sewickley, Pa., Jim Anderson of New Lexington, Ohio, Tom Anderson and wife, Terry, of Snyder, N.Y. and Dan Anderson and wife, Becca, of Charleston; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a cousin, Jane Cushing. She was predeceased by a granddaughter. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 23, 2009, from 6 to 8 p.m. with Recitation of the Rosary at 7 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, July 24, 2009, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.thomasmcafee.com.
