Service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Sweet Home United Methodist Church for Miss Bettie Mae Williams, Gadsden, who died Monday, Aug. 3, 2009. The Revs. Clauzell Ridgeway-Williams and Lawrence Watts will officiate. Burial will be in Lincoln Hill Memorial Park. Watson & Sons Funeral Home directing. She accepted Christ as her Savior and united with Union Baptist Church and later united with Sweet Home Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ada B. Williams, and her sister, Bunia T. Johnson. She taught school in Gadsden City School System for more than 30 years. She was an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and an advent member of the American Contract Bridge League. She is survived by her devoted brother, Lawrence Williams Sr.; three nieces, Jacqueline (Wade) Koger, Desiree and Bettye Williams, all of Huntsville; nephew, Lawrence Williams Jr. (Phyllis), Harvest; four great-nieces, Nikki (Dion), Kimberly, Tambra and Michelle; great-nephew, Marus Williams; one great-great-niece and three great-great- nephews; special recognition to Dwight Bush, a devoted and loyal friend; and a host of other relatives and dear friends. Visitation will be from 6 to 7 tonight.
