Bettie Jean Davis, 71, died June 7, 2013, at home. She was born in Altima, Ark., and lived in St. Lucie County since 1961 coming from Arkansas. Before retirement, she was a machine operator in the juice business. She was a member of Greater Mount Pleasant Primitive Baptist Church, where she served and helped in the kitchen, and a former member of the choir. Survivors include her daughters, Sharonda White of Jacksonville, N.C., Terrah Brown of Louisiana and Whitney Taylor of Norfolk, Va.; brothers, Eugene Perry of Detroit, Cornelious Brown of Poplar Bluff, Mo., and Terry Brown of Bremerton, Wash.; and sisters, Laverne Brown of Jacksonville, N.C., Linda Brown of Bremerton, Wash., Janice Thomas of Jacksonville, N.C., Esielene Brown and Peggy Brown, both of Detroit, and Annette Miller of Hopewell, Va. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Davis. Services: Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. June 14 at Stone Brothers Funeral Home. The funeral will be at noon June 15 at Greater Mount Pleasant Primitive Baptist Church. A guest book is available at www.stonebrothersfuneralhome.com. Arrangements are by Stone Brothers Funeral Home.
