Bessie Parker East Chicago Bessie Parker, age 93, of East Chicago, Indiana, passed away Monday October 18, 2004, at Lake County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in East Chicago. Survivors: one son, Walter Edward Parker of East Chicago; three nieces, Sadie Mae (Melvin) Phillips of Los Angeles, Louise (George) Powell and Irma Jean (Curtis) Martin, both of Rialto, CA; two nephews, Ronald Wayne (Katie) Jackson of East Chicago and James R. Jackson of Gary; eight great-nieces; two great-nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 23, 2004, at 11 a.m. at Hinton & Williams Funeral Home, 4859 Alexander Avenue, East Chicago with Rev. Jim H. Smith officiating. Interment, Fern Oaks Cemetery, Griffith. Friends may call Saturday, October 23, 2004, at Hinton & Williams Funeral Home from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the funeral service.
