BESSIE LEE WALKER 1942 - 2010 Bessie Lee Walker, age 67, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2010. Mrs. Walker was born August 27, 1942 in Escambia County, Florida and resided most of her life in Molino. She was of the Baptist Faith. Mrs. Walker was a cook at Fran's Diner for over 30 years where she was better known as "Miss Bessie." Preceding her in death was her husband, Lester Walker, Sr.; her mother, Almedia Ward; her father, Jessie Ward, Sr.; her brother, Marvin Matchett; her sisters, Alice Enfinger, Velma Sylvia, Carl Ward, Jennette Parker Nevill; and her grandchild, Brandon Walker. Survivors include her brothers, Jessie Ward, Jr. (Pearl), Charles Ward (Won) and Joe Ward (Sandy); her sister, Annie Swails; her children, Debbie Spruill (Randy), Tony D'Elia (Hope), Shawn Moyers (Dannie), Annette Faircloth (Steve) and Lester Walker, Jr. (Christy); 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, February 22, 2010 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North-Cantonment with Rev. Brian Calhoun officiating. Serving, as honorary pallbearers will be Dannie Moyers, Steve Faircloth, Joe Turner, Doug Coon, Chris Spruill, Jamie Dupre and Richard Beauchamp. A private interment will follow Tuesday at Barrancas National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest by her husband. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service time. Faith Chapel Funeral Home North, 1000 Highway 29 South Cantonment is in charge of arrangements.
