CARTER Bertha Rebecca Carter, 86, born August 31, 1918 in Pittsburgh, PA, lived most of her life in Jacksonville, and passed away Thursday, March 17, 2005. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, dedicated to her family and many friends. For the last 12 years she has volunteered her time to Nemours Children's Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, William T. Carter and son, Allan Carter. She is survived by her 6 children, Jay Barr (Lyn), John L. Carter, Dennie Carter, Melvin Carter (Sheran), Bill Carter (Susan), and Dorothy Ann Loftin (Keith); 18 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. Funeral services in celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 22, 2005 at JACKSONVILLE MEMORY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME, 111 Blanding Blvd., Orange Park, FL. Interment will follow in the Garden of the Good Shepherd at Jacksonville Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Monday, March 21, 2005 at the address above.
