Bertha Lou Gilstrap Smith, 90, of Gainesville passed away Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012. She was blessed to pass away at her home.She retired from Chicopee Cotton Mill of 32 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Edgar (Jim) Smith; father, Noah Gilstrap; mother, Callie Edge Gilstrap; sisters, Annie Mae Gilstrap Saine, Jo Nell Gilstrap Whitfield, Iceie Bell Gilstrap Nix; brothers, Gerald and Pratt Gilstrap.She is survived by sister and brother-in-law, Jessie and James Hanes; daughters and sons-in-law, Susie and Benny Cook, Judy Smith, Jimmy and Tommy Jones; grandchildren, Sharon Cook Spiva , Stacy Cook and Tony Bennett, Shannon Cook and David Vandiver, Leigh and Tim Thomas, T.J. Jones; great-grandchildren, Crystal Fricks Hoopaugh, Jessica Bennett and Jake Haynes, Benji Bennett, Tonya Bennett, Tristan Spiva, Danielle Thomas, Shalyn Vandiver, Shaylie Vandiver; great-great- grandchildren, Chase Mize, Jayden Hoopaugh, Konnor Haynes, Skylar Haynes.Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, at 1 p.m. from the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home, with the Rev. Marshal Dale officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, Nov. 12, 2012, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.Memorial Park Funeral Home, 2030 Memorial Park Road, Gainesville, GA 30504, is in charge of arrangements.
