HomemakerLAKE WALES -- Mrs. Bertha L. Jones of Lake Wales died of kidney failure Thursday (Oct. 2, 2003) at Lake Wales Medical Center. She was 93.Born in Walton County on Oct. 13, 1909, she came to Lake Wales from there 46 years ago. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Keenagers. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church.Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband, E.F. Jones. She is survived by her daughters, Dell Barrett, Geraldine Harvard, both of Lake Wales; sons, James Earl Jones, Lake Wales, W.F. Jones, Port St. Lucie; brother, Jim Allen, Paxton; sisters, Louise Ryals, Crestview, Mae Hazel Carnley, Paxton, Dorothy Butler, Pensacola; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at Marion Nelson Funeral Home of Lake Wales. Services will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Lake Wales Cemetery.
