Funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at Morgan Funeral Chapel for Bertha Hare Smith, 86, Steele, who died Monday, April 22, 2013. The Revs. Jim McCord and Anthony Copeland will officiate with music provided by Lorraine Smith. Burial will be in Steele Cemetery. Morgan Funeral Chapel and Crematory directing.Bertha was born in St. Clair County, Feb. 13, 1927, and was a blessing to everyone who knew her. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She was a charter member of Steele Baptist Church and dearly loved her church family. She taught Sunday School for many years in the children's departments and directed numerous weddings at her church, as well as others in surrounding areas.Bertha was an outdoor person and, when able, loved spending her time doing lawn work, especially in her flower gardens, as she loved beautiful plants and flowers.Bertha was preceded in death by her parents, Seaborn and Zora Hare; sisters, Ida Lou Gargus, Doris Ferguson and Mae Otis Davenport; brothers, Elmore Hare, Webster Hare, Roland Hare, Dwight Hare and D.P. Hare.Survivors: son, Wilfred "Will" (Ginger) Smith; sister, Ethel (James) Wells; brother, Frank (Dortha) Hare; granddaughters, Jennifer (Bo) Arthur, Julie (Stephen) Smith; great-grandchildren, Harrison Arthur, Gabe and Graham Smith; several special nieces and nephews; chosen grandchildren, Stormy and Jade Blackburn, Jonathon Fuller.Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made to Steele Baptist Church or Alacare Hospice.Pallbearers will be Bo Arthur, Charles Bearden Jr., Donald Hare, Randy Hood, Scott Huie, Ronald Smith, Wayne Smith and Darryl WellsSpecial thanks to Dr. John R.
