Bernice F. Williams PERRY - Bernice F. Williams, 97, died Monday, Feb. 12, 2007, after a brief illness. The services will be at 10 a.m. EST Friday at Joe P. Burns Funeral Home (850-584-4149), 1400 Johnson Stripling Road, Perry, with Dr. Charles A. Williams officiating. Interment will be at 1 p.m. EST at Roseland Cemetery in Monticello.Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. EST today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made directly to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601-7652, or through a local civic group that supports Alzheimer's research. She was born in Apopka on Dec. 1, 1909, to the Rev. Ashley V. Pickern and Annie Pickern.Mrs. Williams was born and reared in the home of a Baptist pastor and served her Lord as an active member of local Baptist churches as long as her health allowed. In her senior years she spent much time and energy praying for her family and friends. She is survived by six of her seven children, including four daughters, Gwen Faulkner and Jean Edwards, both of Perry, JoAnn Peters of Seneca, S.C., and Ina Ree Littlepage of Alexandria, Va., and two sons, Frank Williams (and Barbara) of Mableton, Ga., and Charles A. Williams (and Georgia) of Jacksonville.She is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her youngest son, John B. Williams, and her husband, B.F. Williams.
