Bernadette Dion, 95 KENNEBUNK - Bernadette Dion, 95, formerly of Limerick Road, Arundel, died Tuesday, June 28, 2005 at The Atria in Kennebunk.She was born on Dec. 24, 1909 in Sanford, the daughter of Anselme (Sam) and Amanda Barron Lamarre.She was employed at the Consolidated National Shoe factory and the Kesslen Shoe factory for several years.She and her husband, Alphonse Dion, then bought a dairy farm in High Pine where they lived for a few years. They then bought a dairy farm on Route 1 in Kennebunk where Mariano's and the Kennebunk Savings Bank are now located. She lived there with her husband and two children until 1963, when she then moved to the Limerick Road to retire with her husband and granddaughter. Bernadette enjoyed family gatherings, sewing, crocheting and tatting.She was a communicant of St. Martha's Parish.She is predeceased by her husband; a son, Albert Dion; a grandson, Kenton Dion; one brother and five sisters.She is survived by a daughter, Rita (Twist) and her husband Bob Wells of Merrimac, Mass.; sister, Melanie Richard of Springvale; granddaughters, Kim (Dion) Hamlyn of Wells, Linda (Twist) Reinelt of New Hampshire, Nathalie Dion of Sanford, and Elizabeth Dion of South Portland; daughter-in-law, Louise Graham of Morrisonville, N.Y.; grandsons, Michael Twist of Rhode Island, Mark Twist of Maine, and Michael Dion; 11 great-grandchildren; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.Visiting hours will be from 10-11 a.m., Friday, July 1, at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer St., Kennebunk, where prayers will be said at 11 a.m. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. at St. Martha's Church.
