Benjamin LaFayette "Shorty" Henderson, age 73, of Navarre, Fla., passed away Monday, Oct. 14, 2013. He was born June 23, 1940, in Crestview, Fla., to the late Glen and Flora Henderson. Shorty worked as a truck driver for Shelton Trucking Services, Inc. He was a supporter of the St. Josephs Indian School, a member of the OOIDA and long- time member of the NRA and the Klan Henderson Society. Survivors include his beloved wife, Jennifer L. Teifke-Henderson; his sons, Christopher "Kriss" LaFayette (Kim) Henderson, David Thomas (Amanda) Henderson, James Roland Jordan, Jr. and Johnathan Lee Teifke; his daughters, Angela (Earl) Palmer, Bonita (Bill) Utterback, Misty (Josh) Gainey, Tina (Aaron) Cubitt, Whittney (Jeff) Madden and Brittney (Jarrod) Cole; 23 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; his brothers, John Glen Henderson, Allen Henderson, Winfred V. Henderson and Thomas A. Henderson; and his sisters, Wilma Laird and Ida M. Smith.A "Celebration of Life" will be Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, at Noon at National Cremation & Burial Society in Milton, Fla., with Mr. Tim Broxon officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 a.m., until the service hour. National Cremation & Burial Society of Milton has been entrusted with the arrangements.
