1917 | 2015 Beatrice Evelyn (Morton) Whalley passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2015 in Hopedale, MA. She was born on September 9, 1917, the daughter of the late Harmon and Edith (Williams) Morton. After high school, she attended Westfield State Teachers College. Beatrice enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening and loved playing cards and solving puzzles. She was a gifted athlete who played tennis, basketball and softball. Besides her parents, Beatrice was predeceased by her beloved husband of 72 years, John H. Whalley, Jr. She is survived by her five children, Thomas Whalley and his wife, Marcia of Fort Myers, FL, John Whalley III and his wife, Kathy of Southwick, David Whalley and his wife, Carrie of Southwick, Paul Whalley and his wife, Bonnie of Southwick and Elsie Aldrich and her husband, Peter of Hopedale, MA; 21 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 15th from 10 | 11 AM at Southwick Forastiere Funeral Home, 624 College Highway, Southwick, MA 01077. A funeral home service will follow at 11 AM. Burial will be in Hillcrest Park Cemetery, Springfield.
